Bernstein's MASS: An Interfaith Dialogue

Bernstein's MASS: An Interfaith Dialogue

April 22, 2015 - 6:00 pm
The Philadelphia Orchestra, in collaboration with the Dialogue Institute at Temple University, presents an interfaith panel discussion inspired by Leonard Bernstein's MASS* and the questions it raises about religion, faith and peace.

The hour-long discussion - including representatives from Christian/Catholic, Jewish and Muslim traditions - will be followed by a Temple University multi-choir concert in Lew Klein Hall at 7:30 pm, during which Temple's Concert Choir will perform excerpts from MASS.

* MASS, which premiered in 1971, explores a Celebrant's crisis of faith through the eyes of a Jewish composer
